Situated on both the Trent River and the Neuse River, New Bern is a historic town with tons of charm. This 300-year old city is the perfect combination of traditional nuances and modern conveniences.

Local restaurants, quaint boutiques, and century-old churches line the streets of Downtown New Bern. Step back in time and enjoy a fresh Fountain Drink of Pepsi-Cola at The Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola Store on the corner of Middle Street and Pollock Street. One can also enjoy a Saturday morning shopping at the Farmer’s Market, and then later that evening attend a performance at the New Bern Civic Theater, or the Masonic Theater.

New Bern also lures in those who love the outdoors. Boating and fishing are common past times for the residents in this town. In addition to the Trent and Neuse River that reside in this city, the Croatan National Forest is found here. Many people take advantage of this area for camping, biking, trail walking, and hunting. For a calmer pace, it is normal to see people paddle boarding or kayaking at Lawson’s Creek Park and Creekside Park. Creekside Park also includes softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, beach volleyball courts, a playground, and a picnic area.

New Bern is home to several delightful communities with superb amenities. Popular communities with golf courses include Taberna, Carolina Colours, River Bend, and Fairfield Harbour. However, this town also offers country living with acreage to have horses, or other farm animals.
